Oktoberfest #OOTD

Hey all! I hope all is well with you all considering we just got Daylight savings back.

I figured I would try something very new and do an outfit of the day post. I might as well get out of my comfort zone right? For the past few years we have been going to Oktoberfest all at different locations. This year, we went to Biergarten in Old World Village in Huntington Beach. It was quite an experience, I got to try a German beer with notes of lemon and grapefruit.

Here we go, here’s the look and the links!

Top: I purchased this A New Day ribbed tank top from Target and only costs $8! I’ll be honest, I wasn’t used to wearing a tank top being more on the shorter side.

Jeans: As a shorter girl, it’s been challenging in finding jeans that fit perfectly but let me tell you Old Navy has really good skinny jeans. Here I’m wearing Old Navy’s High-Rise WOW Super Skinny jeans. These usually run at $34.99 but they do occasionally have these jeans on sale and I mean the cheapest I’ve bought was $10!

Sunglasses: First of all just a warning or disclaimer, one of my favorite places to shop for accessories or beauty would have to be TJ Maxx/Marshalls. I got these Tommy Hilfiger Lilo round sunglasses for about $15.

Boots: When it comes to shoes and purses, I usually go to Shoe Dazzle. I’ve been a member with them for quite a few years now. I”m so glad that we’re closer to fall vibes even in crazy California weather. I’m wearing Maggey Flat Boots and I love them! My favorite part of the boots for me would have to be the buckle and the golden zipper. Original price is $59.95 and if you’re a VIP member, it’s $49.95.

There you have it! My very first fashion Outfit of the Day! What do you guy think?!

Soosul Skin Review

Hey everyone! I hope you all have been doing great! It’s been awhile and I’m sorry. It’s been really hectic in my part of the woods. However, I’m back!

I wanted to come on here and do a mini review on the Soosul Skin that was sent to me. Here’s a little snippet about the company!

Soosul Skin is a cruelty-free, natural, organic and luxury brand made in South Korea created in 2002. We’ve heard about all the hype about mushrooms in coffee and foods right? Well Soosul’s main ingredient in their products is Sang Hwang (Phellinus Linteus) mushroom and is one of the very first mushrooms that Korea has been certified to be used for medicine. This Phellinus Linteus mushroom has outstanding anti-aging and antioxidants. Soosul Skin created products for men and women to help with hyperpigmentation, dehydrated skin, wrinkles, fine lines and dark spots.

Purifying Foam Cleanser

This is a cream to foam cleanser. There’s about 0.5% of SangHwang mushroom extract that’s packed with antioxidants to cleanse and purifies the skin. The scent is very light, it has a very light grapefruit and green tea scent. It isn’t overbearing at all. It indeed is a cream base and I did notice there was a very small amount of grit to the cleanser almost like a scrub which I personally like. The skin type recommended for this product would be for everyone really: normal, oily, combination and dry. I myself can be a bit dry in the winter so the fact that this cleanser turns to foam, is a dry skin’s dream. This product would help with acne, blemishes, oiliness and pores. Honestly sometimes, when I just use the cleanser, my face really does look lighter.

Collagen Boosting Essence Serum

This essence serum is a powerful treatment used after cleaning your face. It contains 10% of the SangHWang mushroom which deeply penetrates into the skin to improve the skin’s natural barrier function and has moisture-holding capacity. The scent again is not very strong, it has a light fragrance. This serum helps with dullness of the skin, uneven texture, dark spots and pores. It also helps with all of the skin types. I love to use this in the morning after cleansing and toner and at night before bed, it gives a supple look and really does make your skin soft and hydrated.

Hydrogel Essential Sheet Mask

I haven’t really seen a mask like this. It actually has 2 parts! The top part of your face (until the nose) and the bottom part which covers under the nose. The scent is a little strong but it’s doable. This mask contains 25mg which gives your skin radiance, hydration, smoothness and plumpness in 10 minutes. You could even leave the mask on up to 30 minutes! A little trick I use is after applying the mask, I like to go over it with a jade roller so the mask can really take more effect. This mask works for all skin types and will help with fine lines, wrinkles, dryness and uneven texture.

They also sent me a few samples: Ginseng Cream with 15% consistency and the Revitalizing Eye Cream infused with 10%.

I always love trying new brands and this one was amazing to try! I would love to eventually love to try out the Neck Firming Cream because lets face it, not everyone pays attention to the neck as we age unfortunately. Take a look at their website, you can’t go wrong. They even have a FREE skin quiz to see which products would benefit you and your skincare needs. If you like what you see and want to try it out, please feel free to use my discount code for 10% off. CHRISTINA10

Have you tried or heard any new skincare that includes mushrooms? I would love to know!

Monday Bites: Magic Spoon Cereal Review

Happy Monday you guys! I hope you had a great weekend! It’s really starting to look like spring here in California, it’s been so pretty.

I got a question for you all….On Saturday mornings, what was your favorite type of cereal? For me, it was Lucky Charms and Reeses Puffs. Now that we’re older, I know we are all trying to reduce our sugar intake? Am I right? Not cut it all out but at least have less. Well ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce Magic Spoon to you all. Magic Spoon cereals bring back your child like cereals but in an adult way. Listen to this:

  • High Protein with 13-14 grams of Proteins
  • Keto Friendly with only 4 grams of net carbs
  • Low Carb
  • Gluten Free
  • Grain Free
  • Soy Free
  • Wheat Free
  • 0 grams of sugar

I ordered my variety pack from Amazon and here are the flavors that were included:

  1. Peanut Butter – remember when I mentioned that one of my favorite cereals growing up was Reese’s Puff? Well this was literally an exact reminder of my childhood memories. Yes a bit less sweet, but that’s the beauty of it!
  2. Frosted – this one reminded me of Frosted Flakes (theeeey’re GREEEEEAT) and Frosted Cheerios
  3. Cocoa – it honestly reminded me of the many chocolate cereals we grew up on: Cocoa Puffs, Chocolate Cheerios and Chocolate Peebles
  4. Fruity – of course we had to have a fruit flavored cereal! This reminds me of course Fruity Pebbles and Fruit Loops.

If I had to choose a favorite, it would have to be Peanut Butter hands down. First of all, I love most things that taste like peanut butter and its healthy! Here’s to 2022 being healthier than the past years!

What are your favorite cereals growing up? Would you try this?

Breo Box Winter 2020

Hello all you people!

I hope you all have been great. I have been MIA yet again but I’m planning to come back again and blog more often. It’s been such a crazy few past months since I last posted. But I’m glad to say things are somewhat back to normal.

It’s been awhile since I posted a subscription box, but I figured this one right here would be perfect for a come back blog post! First I would love to thank this app called Hype Experiences. Its somewhat like a place recommendation site (Yelp, Google Reviews). Here’s how it works: you basically submit 10 posts and after that you’re considered a Hype influencer. When that happens, you can get products and events for a discounted price and all you have to do is post on the app and post on social media. Pretty easy right?

A little bit about what Breo Box is:

It’s a premium, one of a kind, seasonal box aimed to change your lifestyle whether it being technology, fitness, lifestyle and home. I mean heck I believe one season there was a drone in that box! You just never know what you’re gonna get.

First of all, in this box, I recieved Sohp Touchless Soap Dispenser along with a Trip Wipes Gel Soap Refill. As it mentions in the title, it’s touchless! I honestly think it’s perfect. All you got to do is just wave your hand about 2.5 inches from the sensor and viola, it dispenses a citrus scented soap. It’s splash proof which is always a plus. You could actually get 10,000 uses with just one full charge of your Sohp Dispenser. MSRP price is $49 for the Dispenser and $10 for the Soap Refill.

Sohp Touchless Dispenser

Another COVID friendly product I received in this BREO Box was the Lume UV Sanitizer Wand. This is perfect for when you get a package in the mail and you have no idea who has touched it or even just sanitizing your keyboard. How to Use: Turn on the wand with the light panel facing down. Wave the wand over anything you want to sanitize and you’ll see a purple light (UV). That’s it! It sanitizes within 10 seconds. MSRP price is: $79.

Lume UV Sanitizing Wand

Have you ever ordered a hot coffee and by the time you actually get to drink it, it’s already warm/cold? Well you don’t really have to worry about that with the Coffee Cookie. It’s a portable warming coaster. Just turn it on and put it on the bottom of your cup! Anyone else having Curb Your Enthusiasm scene where Larry complained about having a cold cup of coffee?! It takes about 1 hour to fully charge and it’s USB rechargeable. MSRP:: $20

Coffee Cookie

You can never go wrong with Bluetooth headphones. I got the classy white and it’s amazing! First of all, as your cooking, you can control what you’re listening to and if it falls in the water, you’re good. Why you may ask? It’s waterproof my friend…WATERPROOF! Basically you can talk to Siri or even Alexa to stop the music, call someone, get directions. Once you pair the headphones to your phone, it automatically connects every time you turn them on. You know what the best part is……the battery case charges your headphone while not in use. The charging case holds 4 hours of battery time. MSRP is $129!

LSTN Palladium Wireless Earbuds with Charging Case

Ever heard of a Smart Plug? Well, it’s a Wi-Fi enabled plug that keeps you connected to the things you use the most: lamps, fans, or even string lights. Every worry that you leave the house with the light on or even a straightener? You won’t have to worry when it’s plugged in the Casalink Smart Plug! You just have to Download the smart application. It’s voice controlled, it’s Google Assistant Compatible. MSRP $29

There ya have it folks… That’s all of the box for ya. Would I get it again? Yes I would love to see what the next season will bring. Have any of you tried this box? Or interested in one?!

Makeup Mondays: ColourPop Sweet Talk Palette

Happy Monday loves! I hope you are all doing great and handing this crazy heat in Los Angeles!

I wanted to start a new Monday Series called Makeup Mondays, where I review makeup palettes, skincare and hair care!

This week, I’ll be going over ColourPop Sweet Talk Palette and I’m in love with Colour Pop at the moment. So many beautiful eye shadow palettes!

1st Row

Catch Me: a matte beige great for a base all over color

Side2Side: a Super Shock finish great for a sparkly top of an eye look. Super Shocks can be hard to work with sometimes. I would recommend put a little pressure in your finger and swipe the shadow on your eyes.

Garden Date: a metallic medium coral.

Work It: a matte bright orange.

2nd Row:

Prima Drama: a pressed gold glitter. I would recommend this to be applied away from your ducts! so preferably on the middle of the lid.

Meadow: a matte medium dark orange. I’ve been using this shade pretty much most of the time when I use this palette.

Early Morning: an orange gold pressed glitter.

Dream Maker: a matte dusty pink.

3rd Row: the more darker shades

ICYMI: a matte deep coppery-orange

Melody: a metallic light medium coral with gold shimmer specks.

West Side: a matte medium brown.

Feel Free: a matte medium dark red brown.

I feel like these 2 last shades would work great as a crease or outer V color.

I would give this palette a 10/10 to be honest! The shades are all diverse and work great together. The only con for me would be the glitters as there is quite a bit of fallout, but what glitters don’t?!

You can find Colour Pop on their website, or even at Ulta (with select products)

What did you think?! Would you try out ColourPop Pressed Powder Palettes?

Smoked Salmon Breakfast Sandwich

Happy Wednesday loves! I hope it’s been a great week so far. It’s going by so quick, we’re already in middle of July!

I’m back again with a recipe which I created a few years ago and since this quarantine started, I’m using this recipe again!

The best thing is that it is very customizable in case you don’t have a specific ingredient!

Ingredients for my Smoked Salmon Breakfast Sandwich

*2 slices of bread ( I used Oroweat Organic 22 Grain and Seed)

*1 egg

*1 avocado

*Bonjour Kefir Yogurt Mint & Dill or cream cheese or Labne

*2 slices of smoked salmon

Directions:

  1. Toast the bread any way you like
  2. Turn on the skillet and scoop out a teaspoon of ghee and a teaspoon of butter.
  3. When it starts to sizzle, place the egg in the skillet and let it cook.
  4. I prefer my eggs to be a bit over easy so when I see it as over easy I turn off the stove.
  5. Spread some cream cheese, or spreadable cheese of choice on one side of bread.
  6. On the other bread, spread the avocado.
  7. Place the smoked salmon on the cream cheese side and place the egg on the other bread.
  8. Put them together and there you go!

What do you guys think?! Would you try it?!

Milk Street Coffee Sugar Sampler Pack

Happy Wednesday loves! I hope your week is going great so far! It’s been a hectic week, let me tell you!

So I have this new idea where I post about food related topics like recipes and new products coming out.

What do you guys think?!

I’m starting off this series with a Coffee Sugar Sampler pack made by Milk Street.

What is Milk Street?

It is a multimedia (magazines, books, online shopping) and instructional food preparation created by Christopher Kimball, who is an American chef, editor, publisher and a radio TV personality. Check out his podcast!

What exactly is Coffee Sugar?

There is actually 6 different coffee sugars that Milk Street Offers.

*Caramel Brulee – sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla

*Coconut Ginger Cream – coconut milk cream powder, ginger, cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander, black pepper, cardamom, bay leaf and cloves

*Burnt Sugar Orange – sugar, cinnamon and allspice

*Turkish Cardamom – sugar, cocoa, cardamom and cinnamon

*Mexican Mocha – sugar, cocoa, cinnamon and dehydrated chili pepper

*Honey Spice Tea Sugar – sugar, honey, cinnamon, coriander, ginger, allspice, peppermint and lavender

How to Use Coffee Sugars?

Let me tell you: The possibilities are endless! You could use them on baking recipes. I.e. cakes, cookies, pancakes, coffee, tea, yogurt, french toast. I would even try the Mexican Mocha and the Turkish Cardamom on meat! However, just a pinch.

What do you guys think? Would you try this?!

June 2020 BabeBox Reveal

Happy Tuesdays love! I hope your week is starting off great!

Where do you usually go to find new subscription boxes? Well I found this BabeBox on an Instagram ad about a few weeks ago. So I figured, I would check it out!

They had a special promotion where your first box is free, and for an extra $10 you also get 2 mystery products. Not bad, right?

What is the BabeBox?

For $29.00, you get 4-6 full size makeup, personal care, and skincare products once a month. All of the items you receive with your BabeBox are 100% cruelty-free.

Avant Skincare – Rose Beautifying Face Exfoliant $114

This is a Rose and Papaya facial exfoliant which lessens redness, skin irritation and appearance of wrinkles. Vitamin B5 also helps with moist retention.

Did you know that papaya is a great ingredient to remove dead skin and can decrease inflammation?

As with other skincare products, the expiration date is 12 months.

Steve Laurant Lip Oil in “Orchid” – $20

When I first saw this, I really thought it was just a night time kind of lip product but boy was I wrong?!

This oil is designed to soften your lips and prevent sun damage which is a great plus since we are getting into summer season.

I personally am not a big fan of gloss, but occasionally I do use this on top of my matte lipstick just to get that moisture in. I use it more often at night as a lip night treatment.

Lord & Berry Ultimate Lip Liner #3042 Rusty – $14

This is the original Lord & Berry lip pencil and it’s their signature lip liner! It’s a comfortable and easy to use because of the round-shaped barrel. LXB is used to soften and protect the skin.

Rusty is a light nude shade that can easily work with the wide range of skin shades.

(sorry for not posting a full picture as somebody bit it aka Mocha the new puppy! >_<)

It expires in 36 months.

Lord & Berry 20100 Maximatte Lip Crayon in #3402 Soul – $18

Another Lord & Berry lip product but this time, it’s matte! My absolute favorite type of lip formula! As you apply it, its a smooth application with an excellent payoff! It’s easy to carry around in your makeup case and…even after a few weeks of not being used, it’s still rich in color and doesn’t dry up.

Bang Beauty Bashful Blush in Oh Darling – $20

Oh Darling is a orange peach blush and I’m growing to like it. I’m usually a lighter blush kinda girl but I can slowly grow into it. It has a soft lightweight layer of sheer silky color that glides easily. Just always remember to use a light handed sweep to the brush and tap any excess product.  Expiration date is 12 months.

Illuminati Pink Cosmetic Sponge – $21

I usually have one sponge for my foundation and another sponge for applying setting powder and/or blending.

What do you guys think? Would you order this?!

PB&J French Toast with Vital Proteins Collagen

Hello my loves and happy Wednesday!

I hope you all are having a great week so far!

It’s been a long while since I posted a recipe let alone never blogged about collagen.

I first was introduced to Vital Proteins a few years back at the Expo West in Anaheim, California as well as another blogger by the name of The Skinny Confidential (hi Lauren!)

Vital Proteins has so many different products on their website which includes collagen water, collagen mini powders, collagen creamers, immunity boosters, collagen lattes, collagen bars, matcha powders and even workout powders.

Benefits of Collagen:

Did you know collagen helps strengthen nails, hair, skin, bones and joints and as we get older, our bodies are not able to synthesize collagen on their own and a lot of our food intake doesn’t include collagen.**

How to Use:

Simply put into your waters, coffees, beverages and food recipes. The best thing is that this specific kind has no scent and can easily dissolve into water.

My PB&J French Toast Recipe:

* 4 slices of bread

* 1 scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

* 1 egg

* 1/4 cup of milk

* pinch of salt

* cinnamon

* 2 tablespoons of butter or ghee

Spread peanut butter and jelly on the bread as if you were making a sandwich.

Whisk egg, milk, salt, cinnamon and collagen powder.

Gently place the sandwich into the egg mix and make sure you get both sides saturated.

Place 1 tablespoon of butter on the pan and wait for it to sizzle.

Using your spatula, place the sandwich in the pan and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes then turn over and wait a few minutes again.

With the other 1 tablespoon of butter, again place the butter in the pan for the next batch of french toast.

When it’s all said and done, sprinkle powdered sugar and some maple syrup on top.

Bon Appetite!
